La pens\u00e9e d\u00e9coloniale pleure la perte d&rsquo;un intellectuel majeur, un des grands esprits qui a tant contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 son d\u00e9veloppement. Nous apprenons avec \u00e9motion le d\u00e9c\u00e8s d&rsquo;Enrique Dussel, l&rsquo;un des fondateurs \u00e9minents de la Philosophie de la Lib\u00e9ration. Il est unanimement reconnu comme l&rsquo;un des pionniers de cette \u00e9cole de pens\u00e9e, qui a plac\u00e9 au centre de ses r\u00e9flexions les p\u00e9riph\u00e9ries du monde et les peuples opprim\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En ces moments douloureux, Bruxelles Panth\u00e8res tient \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter ses plus sinc\u00e8res condol\u00e9ances \u00e0 la famille et aux proches d&rsquo;Enrique Dussel, ainsi qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 d\u00e9coloniale qui perd en lui une figure d&rsquo;exception.<\/p>\n<p>En cette triste p\u00e9riode, nous publions ci-dessous un entretien avec Enrique Dussel. Cette \u00e9change a \u00e9t\u00e9 recueillis par Luis Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"french\" class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Enrique Dussel In Memoriam<\/h2>\n<p>La Fondation Frantz Fanon est profond\u00e9ment attrist\u00e9e par la disparition du philosophe de la lib\u00e9ration Enrique D. Dussel, dont l\u2019\u0153uvre constitue l\u2019une des expressions philosophiques les plus impressionnantes et les plus ambitieuses au monde \u00e0 ce jour. La philosophie de la lib\u00e9ration de Dussel a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 exposer les limites des perspectives historiques et philosophiques eurocentriques et \u00e0 ouvrir la philosophie \u00e0 des horizons mondiaux.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019ensemble du corpus de Dussel se concentre sur la pertinence philosophique des conditions de vie concr\u00e8tes et des cris des pauvres et des opprim\u00e9s. Historien, th\u00e9ologien et philosophe politique, il a donn\u00e9 la priorit\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une \u00e9thique philosophique de la lib\u00e9ration qui combine une appr\u00e9ciation du r\u00f4le irr\u00e9ductible de l\u2019alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 et des conditions mat\u00e9rielles pour la reproduction de la vie en communaut\u00e9. Sa philosophie appelait \u00e0 une r\u00e9ponse responsable aux peuples discrimin\u00e9s et appauvris, \u00e0 l\u2019hospitalit\u00e9 envers l\u2019\u00e9tranger et \u00e0 la formation de communaut\u00e9s d\u2019opprim\u00e9s qui se rassemblent dans un esprit de lib\u00e9ration et de r\u00e9volte d\u00e9coloniale.<\/p>\n<p>La philosophie de Dussel a servi de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence majeure pour les projets sociopolitiques men\u00e9s en Abya Yala, y compris au Venezuela, o\u00f9 il a crois\u00e9 le chemin de la Fondation Frantz Fanon. Parmi ses nombreuses distinctions, il a remport\u00e9 en 2009 le\u00a0<em>Premio Libertador al Pensamiento Cr\u00edtico\u00a0<\/em>d\u00e9cern\u00e9 par le Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Cultura de la Rep\u00fablica Bolivariana de Venezuela et le Frantz Fanon Lifetime Achievement Prize d\u00e9cern\u00e9 par la Caribbean Philosophical Association.<\/p>\n<p>Il convient de rappeler aujourd\u2019hui que l\u2019attention de Dussel pour les \u00ab\u00a0pauvres\u00a0\u00bb s\u2019est manifest\u00e9e alors qu\u2019il se trouvait \u00e0 Nazareth en 1959. Il vivait et travaillait comme charpentier parmi des travailleurs arabes et le th\u00e9ologien catholique Paul Gauthier. Dussel avoue qu\u2019un soir, alors qu\u2019il partageait l\u2019histoire de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine avec Gauthier et ses coll\u00e8gues, il raconta avec enthousiasme comment le conquistador Pizarro avait vaincu \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019empire inca\u00a0\u00bb avec peu d\u2019hommes. En le regardant, Gauthier lui demande : \u00ab\u00a0Qui \u00e9taient les pauvres \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, Pizarro ou les Indiens ?\u00a0\u00bb. Cette question a boulevers\u00e9 la vision du monde de Dussel et a r\u00e9orient\u00e9 ses recherches et ses questions philosophiques. D\u00e8s lors, il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 aborder l\u2019histoire d\u2019Abya Yala et du monde du point de vue des damn\u00e9s de la terre<\/p>\n<p>Dussel a \u00e9galement fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 son s\u00e9jour en Palestine et en Isra\u00ebl comme \u00e9tant fondamental pour son exploration et son \u00e9valuation de l&rsquo;\u00a0\u00bbethos s\u00e9mite\u00a0\u00bb. En 1969, il publie\u00a0<em>El humanismo semita : estructuras intencionales radicales del pueblo de Israel y otros semitas<\/em>\u00a0(L\u2019humanisme s\u00e9mitique : structures intentionnelles radicales du peuple d\u2019Isra\u00ebl et d\u2019autres s\u00e9mites), dans lequel il d\u00e9crit le r\u00f4le de l\u2019intersubjectivit\u00e9 dans le juda\u00efsme et l\u2019islam anciens.<\/p>\n<p>La chronologie des peuples s\u00e9mites dans El humanismo semita de Dussel va du 4e si\u00e8cle avant notre \u00e8re au 13e si\u00e8cle de notre \u00e8re. On peut dire que son travail visait \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 la d\u00e9colonisation de l\u2019id\u00e9e de s\u00e9mitisme autant qu\u2019\u00e0 la d\u00e9colonisation de l\u2019histoire du monde. Sur cette base, il a d\u00e9crit le sionisme comme un projet antis\u00e9mite et a ouvertement d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 ce qu\u2019il appelait une g\u00e9nocidaire \u00ab\u00a0chasse infernale aux Palestiniens\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0infernal cacer\u00eda de palestinos\u00a0\u00bb).<\/p>\n<p>Nous vous saluons, Dr. Dussel, et nous vous honorons, vous et votre travail, en ces temps des plus sombres, alors que des enfants sont bris\u00e9s en morceaux et que les \u00c9tats les plus puissants du monde se rendent complices de massacres et de crimes de guerre dans une r\u00e9gion qui vous tenait tant \u00e0 c\u0153ur.<br \/>\nPuissent vos paroles et vos \u0153uvres devenir des graines qui se r\u00e9pandent loin \u00e0 la ronde, animant une qu\u00eate incessante pour la lib\u00e9ration des pauvres et des opprim\u00e9s !<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fondation Frantz Fanon<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"french\" class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Enrique Dussel In Memoriam<\/h2>\n<p>The Frantz Fanon Foundation is profoundly saddened by the passing of liberation philosopher Enrique D. Dussel, whose work constitutes one of the most impressive and far-reaching philosophical expressions in the world to date. Dussel\u2019s liberation philosophy sought to expose the limits of Eurocentric historical and philosophical perspectives and to open up philosophy to global horizons.<\/p>\n<p>Dussel\u2019s entire corpus focuses on the philosophical relevance of the concrete living conditions and the cries of the poor and the oppressed. While a historian, theologian, and political philosopher, he prioritized the development of a philosophical ethics of liberation that combined an appreciation of the irreducible role of alterity, and the material conditions for the reproduction of life in community. His philosophy called for the responsible response to discriminated and impoverished peoples, for hospitality to the stranger, and for the formation of communities of the oppressed who came together in the spirit of liberation and decolonial revolt.<\/p>\n<p>Dussel\u2019s philosophy has served as a major reference for socio-political projects through Abya Yala, including in Venezuela, where he crossed paths with the Frantz Fanon Foundation. Among his many accolades, in 2009 he won both, the\u00a0<em>Premio Libertador al Pensamiento Cr\u00edtico<\/em>\u00a0awarded by the Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Cultura of the Rep\u00fablica Bolivariana de Venezuela, and the Frantz Fanon Lifetime Achievement Prize awarded by the Caribbean Philosophical Association.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth recalling today that Dussel\u2019s attention to \u201cthe poor\u201d took place while in Nazareth in 1959. It happened when he was living and working as a carpenter among Arab workers and the Catholic theologian Paul Gauthier. Dussel confesses that, one night, while sharing the history of Latin America with Gauthier and his co-workers, he spoke with enthusiasm about how the conquistador Pizarro vanquished the \u201cInca empire\u201d with few men. Looking at him, Gauthier asked him, \u201cWho were the poor at that moment, Pizarro or the Indians?\u201d This question unsettled Dussel\u2019s world picture and reoriented his philosophical pursuits and questions. Since then, he started to address the history of Abya Yala and the world from the point of view of the condemned of the earth.<\/p>\n<p>Dussel also referred to his time in Palestine and Israel as fundamental for his exploration and appraisal of the \u201cSemitic ethos.\u201d In 1969 he published\u00a0<em>El humanismo semita: estructuras intencionales radicales del pueblo de Israel y otros semitas\u00a0<\/em>(Semitic humanism: radical intentional structures of the people of Israel and other semites), where he wrote about the role of intersubjectivity in ancient Judaism and Islam.<\/p>\n<p>Dussel\u2019s chronology of Semitic peoples in\u00a0<em>El humanismo semita<\/em>\u00a0goes from the 4th millennium\u00a0BCE to the 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century ACE. His work arguably sought to contribute to the decolonization of the idea of the Semitic as much as to the decolonization of world history.
